Policies.

off-site Bookings: In order to secure your date, a deposit of either 50% of the estimated total bill or $250 (whichever is less) will be paid to JENA SANCHEZ (DBA Magix in the Makeup). The deposit amount will be deducted from the total bill, which is to be paid on or before the event day.

Cancellations: Off-Site event cancellations must be made at least thirty (30) days prior to the client’s reserved date or the client will be responsible for paying the full amount of services agreed upon in their contract.  In-Studio appointments require at least a 24 hour cancellation notice, otherwise a 30% service fee will be charged.

Travel: Travel to/from the service location is free, up to 20 miles from the Portland Metro area (97232).  Beyond 20 miles, there will be a charge of $0.575/mi (each way) as set forth by Federal guidelines.  Any added fees such as parking, tolls, etc. will be added to the final bill and collected before or at the time of service.  This includes travel for any and all consultations/trial runs.

Trial Runs: A Makeup Trial/Consultation is required for Bridal Makeup, unless the appointment cannot reasonably be scheduled before the event date. This is to ensure that both the Bride(s) & Makeup Artist are a good fit, that we can work out any “kinks” before the event date and to test any potential allergies related to products used. A consultation/trial is not required for any other appointments, but are available and recommended.  It is recommended to bring a photo of the look the client is going for.  Payment is due at the time of service.  To avoid multiple travel fees, it is recommended that all persons wanting a trial/consultation schedule theirs on the same day.

Satisfaction Guaranteed: All makeup will be done to the client’s satisfaction.  If changes need to be made, please let Jena know before payment is made so she can adjust it to the client’s liking.  The completed makeup application is acknowledgement by the client that the makeup is done to the client’s satisfaction.

Delays: For Off-Site event services, a late fee of $25 will be charged for every 30 minute delay caused by the client or their party.  This includes delays during the makeup application.  For In-Studio services, if a client is more than 15 minutes late to their appointment, it will be considered a No-Show and a 30% fee will be charged.

Liability: All makeup tools, products, etc. are changed out (when possible) or sanitized between each person.  It is up to the client to inform MAGIX IN THE MAKEUP if there are any allergies, sensitivities or other issues to be aware of.  If there are concerns with any of the products used, the makeup artist can perform a patch test prior to application.  Client releases MAGIX IN THE MAKEUP & Jena Sanchez of any liability relating to an allergic reaction due to any products used.

Minors: Brazilian and Brazilian-Bikini waxes will not be performed on anyone under the age of 18.  Basic Bikini waxes will only be performed on minors with both the written consent and supervision of their guardian.

COVID-19: Currently, all clients are required to wear masks again for all services (with the exception of Makeup Applications).  For Lip Waxing, you can unmask until the service is complete.  I have been fully vaccinated, the studio is equipped with a HEPA air filter, all surfaces & reusable tools are cleaned & disinfected with CDC-approved disinfectant between each client and, as always, frequent hand-washing & sanitization is done.  If you are feeling sick, or have been exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days of your service, I kindly ask you to reschedule ASAP.

Payment: For Off-Site event services, any and all outstanding payments must be paid in full before the Makeup Artist(s) departs location. No exceptions.  The person responsible for payment is the person listed as “The Client” in the contract.  For In-Studio services, payment is due once all services are completed.  Payments can be made by all major credit cards. Gratuity is not expected, but always appreciated.
